How to write your own spectrum cards
A good spectrum has two ends that everyone recognises but nobody measures the same way. “Cold ↔ Hot” works because a sauna and a bath are both hot, but people will argue about which is hotter.
Avoid pairs where one end is a yes/no fact. “Fruit ↔ Vegetable” sounds fun, but the target ends up at one end or the other. Opinions (“Overhyped ↔ Underappreciated”) and fuzzy qualities (“Basic ↔ Unique”) create the best debates.
Mix easy and hard cards. Physical opposites warm a group up; abstract ones like “Style ↔ Substance” make for the most memorable rounds once everyone knows the rules.
